Decorating your dorm can be the most exciting part of going into your freshman year, but it can also be very stressful. I loved decorating my freshman dorm, so I wanted to share it with you in a collaboration with Madison from The Classic Madison. We are both sharing our college organization tips on our blogs, so go head over to her blog to see her tips + tricks!
Last year, I shared my dorm with two other lovely ladies, who’ve become my best friends. Sharing a dorm with two other people, in a space meant for only two people, can make things a little interesting. Learning how to truly organize everything will become one of your biggest assets. In a small space, a once clean room can become quite messy with only the slightest things out of place, so keeping a clean room is super important. I want to share with you my top organization tips for keeping your dorm room feeling as roomy as possible.
FOR THE CLOSET
One of the best inventions in the world are closet organizers. I have two hanging closet organizers, one for my shoes and one for my sweaters and t-shirts. These give you so much more space in an already small closet or wardrobe.
FOR YOUR MAKEUP
It is not ideal to bring your entire makeup collection to college, so just bring the essentials. There are so many varieties of organizers for makeup on the market, so you are sure to find the perfect one for you. I love this one from Urban Outfitters, which is perfect for organizing everything from your makeup brushes to your daily makeup essentials.
To organize your makeup palettes, you can use a letter organizer. I bought mine from Amazon, which is just plain white but there are tons of other options. I think it looks darling on my desk and makes my palettes easily accessible.
FOR THE DESK
Nothing is worse than having an unorganized desk. I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but I can’t study in a cluttered space, so my desk must also be clean and organized. I love to keep all my drawers organized with drawer organizers, like this one from The Container Store.
