One of my newest favorite bloggers is Sally from the blog Sweetly Sally. She is the sweetest (how fitting) and her blog content is wonderful. My favorite posts lately are about her travels abroad (Here is my favorite). Sally is all about staying true to yourself and her latest campaign #RealFashionRealMe is all about spreading that message. Fashion has become inauthentic, so Sally wants to change that by taking the pressure away from being perfect. I love Sally’s campaign and thought all my lovely readers should know about it as well. Today, I am sharing an interview with Sally and I hope you enjoy!
Why did you start your blog Sweetly Sally?
I started Sweetly Sally as I was finishing up high school, 3 years ago, when I wanted to creatively express myself and simply write to share what I loved. It has evolved into something much bigger and better than I ever could have imagined! It started as a lifestyle blog, but has turned into a fashion blog as I’ve recently discovered that to be something I love doing!
You are currently traveling, what has been your favorite adventure so far?
Wow, this is a hard question! I’ve been going to Europe since my junior year of high school (I’m about to be a senior in college), and before this trip, my answer would have been hands down, Paris. After I’ve added more cities and countries to my list, I don’t necessarily have a favorite, but Berlin (Germany) and Chamonix (France) have been wonderful!
Describe your style in 3 words.
Girly. Classic. Real.
What does #RealFashionRealMe mean to you?
I wrote an entire blog post about my new movement/hashtag here but this hashtag means being true, authentic, and raw. Fashion gets so much hype and can become so fake and materialistic. I believe that fashion is more than the clothes. Fashion is wearing what makes you happy, what you feel comfortable in. Real fashion is showing off the clothes that make me, ME!
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I will be 26 years old (what!!), so ideally, I would absolutely love to be blogging full-time, but we will see what God has in store for me. I’m in school for elementary education, so being a teacher is another potential road for me to take! Although I love elementary education, I have full intentions of blogging regardless of my profession.
“Be the type of person that you’d like to meet.”
— Sally’s favorite quote
What was the last item you splurged on?
If you’ve been following my blog or Instagram, you’d know that I made a HUGE splurge. I recently purchased a navy Céline purse in Paris and I am so happy I finally bit the bullet and bought it!
Favorite Instagram Account?
It’s really hard to narrow it down to just one, but I would have to say that my favorite account is @brightonkeller. Accounts and people who have kind and authentic personalities rank high on my list!
Who is your style icon?
I really love Kate’s style from lonestarsouthern.com, but I have so many favorites! I’m drawn to anything girly, pink or preppy, really!
What is on your summer reading list?
I am a big reader, so I love this question! I recently finished, “Everything, Everything,” by Nicola Yoon, and loved it, and also just read, “Into the Water,” by Paula Hawkins. I’m currently in the middle of reading, “Wild and Free,” by Hayley Morgan and Jess Connolly, and next up, I want to read, “Present over Perfect,” by Shauna Niequist. I have a way longer list than just these books, but I don’t want to bore you 😉
