Located just off the Million Dollar Highway is the small town of Ouray, CO. Colorado is a state that holds many little treasures, including Ouray. My family loves this cozy little town nestled in a valley surrounded by gorgeous mountains on all sides. Ouray holds many of its own little treasures including a natural hot springs pool, waterfall hike, jeep tours, and so much more. This town, known as the Switzerland of America, is the perfect place for a summer adventure. Let’s go!
Favorite Hike: Cascade Falls
An easy hike for everyone with a beautiful reward — a waterfall. Whoever said “don’t go chasing waterfalls” must never have seen a waterfall, because I’m completely hooked. Colorado has some of the best waterfalls I’ve ever seen. I always make it a priority to see Cascade Falls whenever I’m in Ouray.
Favorite Ice Cream Shop: Mouse’s Chocolates & Coffee
When strolling along the main street in town you will run into Mouse’s Chocolates & Coffee. Every time I come to Ouray, there always seems to be a stream of people, whether they are getting their caffeine fix or giving into their sweet tooth. I love Mouse’s ice cream sundaes! My favorite is the Fudge-y Goodness, which is your choice of ice cream topped with delicious homemade Belgian fudge. Another one of my favorite treats is Mouse’s scrap cookies, which combines all the delicious scraps from a days worth of baking goodies into a yummy everything but the kitchen-sink type of cookie. If you are ever in Ouray this is one stop you can’t miss!
